The bed is one of the
more interesting objects in the apartment. Number one, it has
no box springs. There is a thin (maybe 3") matress on top
of a wooden platform. It may take some getting used to, but it
really does sleep well. We especially like the bed covers. They
are a type of comforter covered by a linen slipcase. You can see
the color of the comforter through the diamond shaped opening
on top of each side. It is really nice and toasty on a cold Luoyang
night...of which we are having quite a few.

The closet is solid wood, and very beautiful. Since we have no chest of drawers, you have to lay your clothes out on the shelves. To the left is the doorway to the living room.

Here is the our nice little clothes tree. The top rotates so that you can get to all the hangers. The chairs, also made from the same wood as the closet, are very nice. The backs of the chairs curve inward to fit your back. By the way, that is my Boston Bruins cap on the hanger.

The door leads to our balcony. We are hoping to raise some flowers and herbs on the balcony when spring gets here. Some people use the balcony for storage and it looks like some folks' garage back home. In the winter you have to open the windows on the balcony so the moisture can get out, or the clothes stay wet for a long time.
