The clothes washer is just outside the bathroom in its own tile enclosed room. Since you have tile on all sides, you don't have to worry about water getting splashed around. Lee says the washer reminds him of a little robot. It really does a nice job of getting our clothes clean. Because we cannot speak Chinese, we don't know if we can purchase fabric softener in the store or not. Once we make some Chinese friends who speak English, we can add that to our washing routine. Those are Deanna's shower shoes in the bottom right...not fuzzy green growths on the floor.
In this picture
you see our hot water heater for showering. It is all shiny and
new. It is mounted on the bathroom wall. Here is the interesting
part...there is no tub in the bathroom. You just stand in the
bathroom and turn on the shower. The floor is a bit lower than
the rest of the apartment and the water drains out. You can see
the shower nozzle in the lower right corner of the picture. Although
we have the heater working well there are still buttons that are
a mystery to us, since we cannot read the Chinese. We were pleasantly
surprised by how well this system works.

This sign hangs on the bathroom wall. In the middle, in English, there is a warning to turn off the heater before you turn on the shower. Since the heater is electrical, it might be possible to cause an accident if you got the plugs wet.
We do have a sink and Western style toilet, but we are being discreet and won't show you those at this time. <grin>
